Melody's Musings on:

Raising a Special Needs Child:

Having a Backyard Farm

Extending the Growing Season

Homeschooling

Working at Home

This Website is changing and growing, just like my family.

I have several teens, a 'tween, a younger child, and our "baby" is a special needs child.

My husband and I have owned businesses together, some at-home and another away from home. Both of us have done at-home work for another person's company. I have mostly stayed at home with our children while my husband has worked outside the home or on our businesses at-home.

I have homeschooled all of my children at various times in their lives.

We have lived in a trailer park in the city with a postage stamp yard, on a 120 acre farm in the middle of nowhere, and currently on a one-third acre lot in town. When I lived in the country I learned that I am a country girl, so here in town we have kept up the farm lifestyle on a scaled-down version by keeping a few animals for meat, eggs, and milk, and we enjoy gardening too.

This website is about the things we have learned by accident and by forethought along the way.

Enjoy!
